Terms and Conditions — IGCSE English Tutor
1. About the Service
IGCSE English Tutor provides live online tutoring for students preparing for IGCSE English Literature and Language examinations, as well as support in primary education, for CAT4 GL assessments, competitive entrance exams, and Academic Coaching for optimal study habits and school mindset in Maths, French, Biology, Chemistry and homework support to Year 10.
Lessons may be delivered as:
individual sessions (1-to-1 tutoring), or
small group courses.
All lessons are delivered online via Zoom.
To protect student privacy, lessons are not recorded.
Group students will receive access to lesson materials shared through Google Drive.
2. Booking and Payment
Lessons and courses must be booked through the website.
Payment terms:
The first lesson may be paid after the session.
All subsequent lessons must be paid in advance.
Clients may purchase: a single lesson packs of 10 or 20 lessons full course places.
For courses, payment may be split into 2 or 4 instalments.
If payment fails, we will attempt to process payment again.
3. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Individual Lessons
Clients should provide as much notice as possible for cancellations but at least 24 hours’ notice. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the booked time will be fully charged. If a cancelled lesson slot can be filled by another student, a refund will be issued. Rescheduling requests will always be considered but naturally, not guaranteed.
If the Tutor Cancels
If the tutor cancels a lesson:
the lesson will be rescheduled or, if preferred, refunded.
4. Group Courses
Group courses reserve a fixed place for each student.
If a student misses a lesson, they will have access to all lesson materials.
The tutor will check-in with the student to help address any gaps.
If a student withdraws from a course:
40% of the remaining lesson fees remain payable, as the place has been reserved.
If the place is successfully filled by another student, only 20% of the remaining balance will be payable.
5. Participation Expectations
Students are expected to participate actively in lessons.
For online sessions:
cameras and microphones must be enabled
students should attend from a quiet environment where possible.
Homework is often assigned to consolidate learning.
6. Lesson Materials
All lesson materials provided remain the intellectual property of IGCSE English Tutor.
Students and parents may not:
share materials publicly or to others
upload them online
sell or reproduce them.
Access to shared resources is for personal educational use only.
7. Student Progress
Tutoring supports student learning but exam results cannot be guaranteed.
Progress depends on:
lesson attendance
completion of homework
application of feedback and exam practice.
8. Technical Requirements
Students are responsible for ensuring they have:
a stable internet connection
a working microphone and camera
access to Zoom and Google Drive.
Technical issues on the student’s side do not normally qualify for refunds.
9. Termination of Services
The tutor reserves the right to terminate lessons or course participation where:
payment obligations are not met
behaviour expectations are repeatedly breached.
10. Limitation of Liability
Our liability in connection with tutoring services shall not exceed the total fees paid for those services.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
